The latest round of Counter-Strike 2 patches has gone live as of November 7th, 2024, and brings a modest roster of changes, fixes, and updates. So today, we’re going to check out the latest CS2 patch notes to see what’s new and briefly go over some of the things that have been missing.
Just letting you know early on, there really isn’t too much exciting with the latest CS2 patch notes but it’s still important to stay updated with fixes and changes that might affect your gameplay.
That said, if you’re looking to experience game, its a good idea to buy CS2 prime account from U7BUY!
Let’s get right into it!
Gameplay Changes
The first batch of changes are for the overall CS2 gameplay. In particular, they’ve made a few ‘adjustments to bullet hit feedback’ which is pretty vague but we assume it’s a good thing.
They’ve also made some relevant fixes including –
- Bug fix for situations where C4 was able to be defused from any height.
- Fixed instances where during mid-spray, lag compensation would rewind target hitboxes further into the past than what was seen on screen.
Again, nothing too significant but the mid-spray fix was badly needed especially for situations where you clearly should’ve been safely concealed but lag compensation screws you over.
They’ve also made a pretty big change to sloped surfaces. Earlier, CS2 players were able to jump in place on a sloped surface to start sliding. However this has changed and for better or worse, you can’t do it anymore.
Animation Updates
For the animation aspect of the game, we have two main fixes –
- Fixed IK logic improving third-person feet posing.
- Fixed instances where feet/legs of players would ‘pop’ out of position during exiting of the bomb-plant animation.
The IK logic fix is especially for instances when players are standing on slopes which is related to the earlier CS2 gameplay change about sloped surface sliding.
Lastly, we also have ‘reduced’ animation-related network bandwidth usage which should make animations loading in the game snappier and more efficient.
Matchmaking & Misc Updates
There are two more changes related to matchmaking and essentially ‘misc.’ updates.
Firstly, they’ve added ‘detailed matchmaking stats’ when looking for matches during off-peak daily hours. This should give you a better idea of the current player base when searching for matches.
Additionally, they’ve changed how you earn your first Armory Credit. Instead of gaining it immediately upon activating an Armory Pass, instead, all 40 Armor Credits can be earned simply by playing the game and earning CS2 XP.
What’s Missing?
However, quite a few things are missing from this small update to Counter-Strike 2 with fans clamoring for the Train map to be added to the game as well as a noticeable lack of anything updating the anti-cheat systems, including VAC.
For a while now players have been asking for more reactive and stringent measures to address the issue with hackers, but for now, in this patch at least, the dev team has yet to patch in any fixes.
Aside from the above mentioned changes, there are a few more map updates for Office, Nuke, and Anubis, and an extensively fixed ‘Ancient’ CS2 map with issues and glitches. But otherwise, that’s pretty much everything you need to know.
